I am currently employed as an Instructor in Syntax at the University of Chicago. Prior to that, I was a PhD student and postdoc at the Universitšt Leipzig, where I defended my dissertation entitled Cumulativity in Syntactic Derivations in 2017. I have also studied at the University of Manchester and the Humboldt-Universitšt zu Berlin.

Research interests

I mainly work on syntax and its interfaces to morphology, phonology and semantics with a particular focus on understudied languages.

  • Optimality-theoretic syntax
  • Syntax/semantics of wh-movement
  • Agreement and case
  • Syntax/PF interface
  • The morpho-syntax of English, German, Slavic and Akan
